A signature piece of the collection, featuring six front patchworks inspired by motifs from Rousseau’s tableaux and expressed through original patchwork designs. Primitive forms are created using a cut-paper technique, and the silk-cotton fabric is naturally dyed in six layered colors.
Each color is built up by hand, layer by layer, using multiple plant dyes. Unlike chemical dyes, plant pigments offer a mysterious and complex depth to each hue. The black lines are hand-drawn individually with a handmade mordant ink containing iron, which turns black on the fabric through a reaction with the tannins in the natural dyes.
