Personal Information Agreement

Upon registering for this SERVICE, the member acknowledge that the COMPANY will, upon development and implementation of protection measures, handle the member’s personal information acquired by the COMPANY through use of this SERVICE according to the following terms.

Article 1  Purposes for Utilization of Personal Information 
1  Members acknowledge that the COMPANY establishes the following stipulations for handling personal information (which refers to “personal information” as defined in Article 2 Item 1 of the Act on the Protection of Personal Information) upon developing and implementing necessary protection measures.
(1)Acquisition of the following personal information by the COMPANY
① Name
② Address
③ Phone number
④ Date of birth
⑤ Email address
⑥ Credit card number
⑦ Other information included at member registration 
⑧ Purchase history 
(2)Use of personal information by the COMPANY for the following purposes 
① Confirming identity
② Confirming purchases made using this SERVICE, and contact regarding shipment and other details after purchase 
③ Sending product information, lifestyle information, after-purchase service, and other special services via email or postal mail from the COMPANY 
④ Requesting opinions, feedback, survey responses, etc. 
⑤ Marketing and Purchase Behavior Analyses

Article 2  Consigning Personal Information
The COMPANY, within scope of the purposes defined in Article 1, may consign member information, in whole or in part, to other subcontractors. The COMPANY shall select a subcontractor that maintains a sufficient standard of personal information protection, and shall conclude a personal information protection agreement with the vendor.
Article 3  Providing Personal Information to Third Parties
The COMPANY shall not provide any personal information to third parties except for (1) any of the cases defined in the previous article, (2) cases in which the member has given consent, (3) cases in which personal information is used in collaboration with business partners within scope necessary to achieve the declared purpose of membership, and (4) cases based on legal or regulatory issues. 

Article 4  Autonomy of Providing Personal Information and Results of Not Providing Said Personal Information
All personal information obtained by the COMPANY shall be provided voluntarily by members. Members shall acknowledge that they cannot use this SERVICE if they do not provide all necessary items of personal information. 
Article 5  Personal Information Rights
1 In regards to a member’s own personal information, the member may demand that the COMPANY, or any collaborating party that handles their personal information, provide notification of purpose of use, disclose, revise, add, or delete the member’s personal information, halt use of the member’s personal information, or halt provision of the member’s personal information to a third party and demand deletion.
2  The contact information provided for inquiries regarding personal information, such as requests for the disclosure indicated in the previous item, is as follows.

3 Members may revise or delete personal information (excluding purchase history) by modifying their membership information.
4 Members may configure settings to not receive contact from the COMPANY by email or postal mail by modifying their membership information, if they do not want to receive such contact. However, if the COMPANY must contact a member for an urgent matter, the COMPANY can contact the member regardless of the above settings.

Personal Information Protection Policy
Simple joint-stock company EDC is a company that operates an internet shopping website. The COMPANY hereby declares that it shall be aware of the importance of all personal information provided by each individual to this company, primarily users of the website, and shall strictly obey all laws, regulations, and other standards regarding protection of personal information, shall establish its own in-house rules and structure, shall enact this personal information protection policy (including the stipulations below), and shall execute and maintain this policy.

1. The COMPANY shall, in regards to its handling of personal information used in business operations and personal information of employees and others, obey all laws, regulations, national directives, and other standards pertinent to handling of personal information
2. The COMPANY shall specifically define the use and purpose of obtaining and using personal information, and shall not use personal information in any way that exceeds the bounds necessary for completion of that purpose as defined by the COMPANY (utilization other than for intended purposes.) In addition, the COMPANY shall develop and implement proper administrative measures to avoid utilization other than for intended purposes. 
3. The COMPANY shall not provide any personal information to a third party without the consent of the individual, except for cases involving legal or regulatory necessity.
4. Upon receiving a complaint or consultation regarding the COMPANY’s handling of personal information, the COMPANY shall quickly investigate the facts of the matter and handle the situation in a reasonable amount of time, in an earnest manner.
5. In order to properly manage personal information obtained by the COMPANY, the COMPANY shall develop and implement structural, physical, technological and human safety measures, and shall make efforts to prevent and fix any leaks, loss, or damage related to personal information.
6. The COMPANY shall, giving due consideration to changes in social conditions and in the environment, revise personal information protection systems for continual personal information protection, and improve efforts towards personal information protection.
